Course Outline

The Introduction to Dangerous Goods & Hazardous Substances (Level 1) course will provide you with an introduction to Dangerous Goods and Hazardous Substances in the workplace and the risk management processes used to minimise their risks.

On completion of the Introduction to Dangerous Goods & Hazardous Substances (Level 1) course, you will be able to:

  • Summarise the key requirements and responsibilities under the legislation
  • Explain the difference between dangerous goods and hazardous substances
  • Outline common dangerous goods and hazardous substances found in the workplace
  • Summarise an appropriate risk management approach to dangerous goods and hazardous substances

  • Summarise appropriate incident and emergency response procedures in the event of an exposure or spill

This course is an introductory course and you will receive a Certificate of Completion on successful completion of the course and assessment.

  • Explain the receiving requirements
  • Explain the handling, storage and segregation requirements
  • Describe the transport requirements

This course is an introductory course and you will receive a Certificate of Completion on successful completion of the course and assessment.
